Cedar Bark is single-shredded,
golden brown, and will fade to a
weathered silvery-gray within
about a year.  If you spread your
cedar bark about 4" thick, it should
last about 2 years.

Hardwood Bark is single-shredded,
dark brown, and will fade to a
lighter brown after a year or so.  If
you spread your hardwood bark
about 4" thick, it should last about
2 years.

Pine bark is double-shredded, has
the consistency of coffee grounds,
and is dark brown.  Once spread, it
forms a crust that will last about
12-18 months.  Pine bark will break
down faster than cedar or
hardwood, but is also excellent for
enriching less-than-perfect soil.

How much do I need?
The "magic formula" goes like this:
LENGTH x WIDTH of your garden beds
equals AREA needing materials
DIVIDE AREA by 27
(this gives you 12" deep of the material)
DIVIDE that number by:
3 (to have 4" deep of material)
4 (to have 3" deep of material)
6 (to have 2" deep of material)
A General Rule is 1 cubic yard of material covers 80 square feet, 4" deep
Visual people:  A full-sized pick-up truck bed holds about 2 yards
(this is new for us in 2009, so be patient!)

  • Delivery Schedule:  Anytime within 3 working days of ordering

  • We will drop your bark as close to where you want it as we can.

  • We CANNOT drop the bark on the sidewalk or in the street.

  • Our delivery trucks MUST stay on your driveway.  PLEASE let us
    know if there are low-hanging branches or wires over your
    driveway.

  • We will take your VISA/MC/DISCOVER card number over a secure
    site and process it at the greenhouse--not directly online.  You will
    receive a printed receipt and a copy of your order.
